- כִּלְכֵּל(b. h.; כלל, כול) (to surround, 1) to provide with everything; to sustain. Naz.3a, v. כִּלְכּוּל. Ber.58b וכ׳ אתכם בדיןוכ׳ and provided for you (while alive) in justice, and gathered you in justice. 2) (cmp. כְּלִילָא) to raise a crown of hair, to be a nazir. Naz. I, 1 הריני מְכַלְכֵּל I will grow a crown (as a substitute for, ‘I will be a nazir, v. כִּינּוּי). Y. ib. 51b top כאומר הריני מן המְכַלְכְּלִין as if he said, I will be one of those who wear a crown of hair.Tosef.Nidd.VI, 6; Nidd.52b עד שתְּכַלְכֵּל (euphem.) until she has a full growth of hair (around the pudenda). 3) denom. of כֶּלִי) to arm, fit out. Midr. Till. to Ps. 8 א״להקב״ה ולא אני כלכלתי בה (read: כִּלְכַּלְתִּיו) said the Lord to him (Doëg), is it not I that fitted him (David) out with it (the sword of Goliath deposited in the Sanctuary)?(The entire sentence is missing in ed. Bub.; note 69 a. l. quotes fr. mss. קלקלתי. Nithpalp. נִתְכַּלְכֵּל to be supported. Pesik. R. s. 4 אליהו נ׳וכ׳ (not נתבלבל) Elijah was supported by the woman of Zarephath.
